About data files

While most statistics are sent to the WhatPulse website, the more granular stats, like the keyboard and mouse heat maps, are stored locally. There are two files that the WhatPulse client uses to store its data and settings:

• whatpulse.db (Local statistics and settings)
• whatpulse.wpw (Online statistics and login information)

These files are located in different locations on different operating systems. While Premium members can enjoy online backups that ensure the safety of the whatpulse.db file, non-premium members should take regular backups of the data directory.

You can find these data files in the following locations:

Windows

• %LOCALAPPDATA%\WhatPulse

Mac OS

• ~/Library/Application Support/WhatPulse/

Linux

• ~/.local/share/whatpulse/
