XMRig
XMRig is an open-source, high-performance cryptocurrency miner project best known for mining Monero (XMR) and other coins that use RandomX and earlier CryptoNight-derived algorithms. The project provides multiple binaries and variants including the primary XMRig CPU miner, OpenCL/CUDA GPU builds, XMRig-proxy (Stratum proxy), and related utilities. XMRig is developed and maintained as a community project on GitHub with regular updates to improve performance, add features, and address security issues.
Originally created in the mid-2010s as a Monero-focused miner, XMRig expanded over time to support multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, macOS) and acceleration backends (OpenCL, CUDA). The software is widely used by individual miners, mining pools, and developers; it has also been observed being repurposed in malicious cryptojacking campaigns. The project is primarily distributed via its official website and its GitHub repository, where source code, releases, and documentation are published...
