WhatPulse Community Code of Conduct
WhatPulse is built around curiosity, personal data, and a shared sense of progress. As more of that experience becomes visible and interactive, the way people behave matters just as much as the data itself.
This Code of Conduct exists to set clear expectations for how we treat each other and how we use the platform. It applies to all parts of WhatPulse, including the website, applications, community spaces, and any direct interaction with the team.
You don't need to memorize this document. But you should understand the intent behind it.
The spirit of the community
At its core, WhatPulse is meant to be useful, interesting, and enjoyable to be part of.
That only works if people feel comfortable participating and trust what they're seeing.
- Be respectful of others
- Act in good faith
- Keep things fair
- Don't make the platform worse for others
Or simply put: be nice.
Be respectful, act in good faith, keep things fair, and don't make the platform worse for others. Be nice.
Respecting others
People use WhatPulse in different ways, for different reasons. That's fine. What isn't fine is turning that into a negative experience for someone else.
We don't allow behavior that targets or harms others, including:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
- Hate speech or discrimination of any kind
- Personal attacks or attempts to rally others against someone
- Threats, even if framed as jokes
This applies to anything you create or share; your profile, your messages, and your interactions.
No harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, or threats. This applies everywhere on WhatPulse, including your profile and messages.
Appropriate use of the platform
WhatPulse is a public-facing platform in many areas. That comes with a baseline expectation of what is appropriate to share.
Content that is clearly out of place or harmful to others is not allowed, including:
- Explicit or sexual content
- Graphic or disturbing material
- Content intended to provoke, shock, or offend
Keep content appropriate. No explicit, graphic, or deliberately provocative material.
Fairness and integrity
WhatPulse relies on trust. The value of the platform comes from the idea that what you see reflects reality.
Trying to manipulate that undermines the entire experience.
We do not allow:
- Artificially inflating activity through automation or non-human input
- Manipulating or falsifying statistics, rankings, or recorded data
- Abuse of bugs, loopholes, or unintended behavior
- Attempts to bypass safeguards or detection systems
- Accounts being shared between multiple people or used to combine activity and stats
If you come across an issue, reporting it helps everyone. Exploiting it does the opposite.
Don't fake or inflate stats, exploit bugs, or share accounts. Report issues instead of abusing them.
Being constructive
Not every interaction has to be positive, but it should be constructive.
Disagreement is fine. Criticism is fine. Hostility isn't.
- Keep feedback grounded and relevant
- Avoid turning discussions into personal attacks
- Focus on adding value, not just reacting
A good rule of thumb: if it wouldn't be useful to read, it probably isn't useful to post.
Disagree and criticize, but stay constructive. Hostility and personal attacks aren't welcome.
Respecting attention and space
Everyone shares the same platform. That means respecting the time and attention of others.
We don't allow:
- Spam or repetitive content
- Unsolicited promotion or advertising
- Mass messaging or intrusive behavior
If your activity interrupts rather than contributes, it's likely crossing the line.
No spam, unsolicited promotion, or mass messaging. Respect others' attention.
Reporting and responsibility
No system catches everything automatically. Community input helps keep things in check.
If you see something that doesn't feel right, you can report it through the platform, reach out via support, or contact us through community channels.
We review reports with care and aim to act fairly and consistently. Reports are handled privately, and abuse of the reporting system will also be dealt with.
See something off? Report it. We review reports privately and fairly. Don't abuse the reporting system.
Enforcement
We don't enforce these guidelines to control the community, we enforce them to protect it.
When behavior crosses the line, we may take action depending on the severity and context.
Less severe issues
Sometimes people misjudge tone or make mistakes. In those cases, we typically:
- Issue a warning
- Remove or adjust content
- Apply temporary restrictions if needed
The goal here is correction, not punishment.
Serious or repeated violations
When behavior is clearly harmful, intentional, or repeated after warnings, stronger action is taken.
This can include:
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent removal from the platform
- Loss of access to certain features or visibility
We look at patterns of behavior, not just isolated incidents.
Minor issues get warnings or content adjustments. Serious or repeated violations can lead to suspension or removal. We look at patterns, not just isolated incidents.
A note on intent and patterns
Not every bad interaction is a violation, and not every violation is intentional.
What matters more is how someone responds:
- Do they adjust when called out?
- Do they repeat the same behavior?
- Do they escalate or de-escalate situations?
We take that into account when deciding how to act.
Intent and patterns matter. How you respond to feedback shapes how we act.
Final note
WhatPulse works best when people trust the data and feel comfortable being part of the community.
That doesn't happen automatically, it's something we maintain together.
If you're contributing in a way that makes the platform more useful, more fair, or simply more enjoyable, you're doing it right.
We maintain a healthy community together. Contribute in ways that make WhatPulse more useful, fair, and enjoyable.
