Vlambeer
Vlambeer was an independent Dutch game studio best known for fast-paced, arcade-style pixel games. Founded by Rami Ismail and Jan Willem Nijman in the late 2000s (formally active as Vlambeer in the early 2010s), the studio gained recognition for titles such as Super Crate Box, Luftrausers, Ridiculous Fishing and Nuclear Throne. Their games were noted for tight gameplay loops, distinctive pixel-art aesthetics, and a design focus on replayability and mechanics.
During its run Vlambeer became a highly influential indie studio, both for its games and for the public-facing profiles of its founders (Rami Ismail in particular became a well-known advocate for indie developers worldwide). In 2020 the studio announced it would stop operating as a formal development studio, though its games remain available and the founders continue to be active in the games community in various capacities.
