Turbine, Inc. was an American video game developer best known for creating and operating several subscription and free-to-play massively multiplayer online (MMO) titles. Founded in the mid-1990s, Turbine developed early MMOs such as Asheron's Call and later high-profile licensed MMOs including Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) and The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO). The studio also worked on other online and multiplayer projects, including the MOBA Infinite Crisis.

Turbine became a prominent MMO developer through the 2000s and was later acquired by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. In the mid-2010s the teams and live-operations responsibilities for LOTRO and DDO were restructured and transitioned to a new studio (Standing Stone Games) that continued development and live service for those titles. Turbine’s legacy is primarily tied to its contributions to persistent online worlds and running long-lived MMO services.
