Relic Entertainment
Relic Entertainment is a Canadian video game developer best known for producing high-quality real-time strategy (RTS) titles. Since its founding in the late 1990s, Relic has developed critically acclaimed franchises including Homeworld, Dawn of War (Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War), Company of Heroes, and more recently worked on Age of Empires IV. Their games are noted for strong single-player campaigns, tactical depth in multiplayer, and detailed graphics and engine work tailored for strategy gameplay.
Founded by a small team of developers in Vancouver, British Columbia, Relic grew into a prominent RTS studio. Over its history the company has been part of larger publishers (including a period under THQ) and was acquired by SEGA in 2013. Today Relic continues to support and develop strategy titles, provide post-release updates and expansions, and collaborate with publishers on franchise installments and new projects within the strategy and action-RTS genres.
