OBS Project (Open Broadcaster Software)
OBS Project is an open-source, community-driven project best known for developing OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software), a free, cross-platform application for video recording and live streaming. The software provides a rich set of features—scene composition, source capture, encoding, plugins and extensibility—used by hobbyists, streamers, podcasters, educators and professional broadcasters worldwide. Development and maintenance are driven by a global volunteer community and a team of core maintainers rather than a traditional corporate structure.
The project began as the Open Broadcaster Software initiative and has grown into one of the most popular streaming/recording tools due to its extensibility, stability and active plugin ecosystem. OBS Project publishes binaries for Windows, macOS and Linux, maintains an active issue tracker and development repository, and also provides documentation, forums and community resources through its website and GitHub organization.
