Sysinternals is a collection of advanced system utilities and technical resources originally created by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell in the late 1990s to help administrators and power users troubleshoot, manage, and diagnose Windows systems. The site and toolset became widely known for diagnostic tools such as Process Explorer, Autoruns, PsExec (remote process execution), and Disk2vhd (disk to VHD converter). In 2006 the Sysinternals site and toolset were acquired by Microsoft and have since been hosted and maintained under Microsoft's documentation and tooling ecosystem, while still retaining the “Sysinternals” brand and author attribution for Russinovich and Cogswell's work.

Today Sysinternals is distributed through Microsoft Learn and remains a go-to source for Windows internals and troubleshooting utilities. Many of the tools are maintained and updated by Microsoft engineers (including Mark Russinovich in his Microsoft role) and are frequently referenced by IT professionals...
