Looking Glass Studios
Looking Glass Studios (originally Blue Sky Productions, later Looking Glass Technologies) was an influential American video game developer based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, best known for creating immersive, simulation-driven titles in the 1990s. Founded by Paul Neurath in 1990, the studio produced landmark games such as Ultima Underworld (as Blue Sky/with Origin), System Shock, the Thief series (Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age), and entries in the Flight Unlimited series. Their work emphasized emergent gameplay, advanced AI and physics for the time, and strongly influenced the “immersive sim” genre.
