IO Interactive (IOI) is a Danish video game developer founded in 1998 and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. The studio is best known as the creator and steward of the Hitman series — a long-running stealth/action franchise centered on Agent 47 — as well as earlier franchises such as Kane & Lynch. IO Interactive develops its games on its proprietary Glacier engine, specializing in sandbox-style level design, stealth mechanics, and cinematic action. Over the years the studio has released multiple Hitman titles (including Hitman (2016), Hitman 2 (2018) and Hitman 3 (2021)) and has continued to expand and update those games with live-service content and platform integrations.
