ihhub / fHeroes2 (open-source community)

fHeroes2 is an open-source community project (hosted under the ihhub GitHub organization) that reimplements the engine of the classic turn-based strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic II. The project's goal is to recreate the original game's behavior so that the game can be played on modern operating systems without the original executable, while remaining compatible with original game data and supporting enhancements, bug fixes and translations contributed by volunteers.

The project is developed collaboratively on GitHub, producing builds for multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS) and providing a Windows executable (fheroes2.exe) as one of the deliverables. The community maintains the codebase, tracks issues and pull requests, and focuses on preserving original gameplay fidelity while enabling modern features, modding and improved portability for fans and preservationists.
