Ignite Realtime
Ignite Realtime is an open-source community and project umbrella that develops and maintains server and client software for real-time messaging, primarily using the XMPP (Jabber) protocol. The community is best known for projects such as Openfire (a Java-based XMPP server), Spark (a cross-platform desktop XMPP client), Fastpath (a web-based customer support/chat component) and a number of related plugins and libraries. Ignite Realtime provides downloads, documentation, plugin repositories, and community support resources for these projects.
The community grew out of early open-source XMPP work and the code lineage of commercial/open projects in the instant messaging space; it continues as a volunteer-driven project hub rather than a traditional commercial vendor. Ignite Realtime focuses on enabling real-time communication and collaboration for organizations and developers through maintained open-source software, extensible plugins, and community support channels.
