HP Inc. traces its roots to Hewlett-Packard, founded in 1939 by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard in Palo Alto, California. Over decades the company grew from electronic test equipment into one of the world’s largest technology firms, producing personal computers, printers, imaging products and related consumer and business software. In 2015 Hewlett-Packard split into two publicly traded companies: Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for servers, storage and enterprise services, and HP Inc. to focus on personal systems and printing solutions.
