Hog Bay Software
Hog Bay Software is a small independent software developer best known for TaskPaper, a lightweight, plain-text to-do list and outlining application originally created for macOS (with past iOS editions). The company has focused on producing minimalist, text-centric productivity tools that emphasize speed, keyboard-driven workflows, and interoperable plain-text file formats rather than feature-heavy GUIs.
TaskPaper popularized a simple, human-readable task format based on lists, indentation, and tags, appealing to users who prefer minimal interfaces and text portability. Hog Bay Software maintains the TaskPaper app and its format, publishes information and downloads on its website, and historically has engaged directly with its user community for support and updates. The company operates as a small indie developer rather than a large corporate vendor.
