Google LLC is an American technology company founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. It began as a web search engine and rapidly expanded into a broad range of consumer and enterprise products and services, including advertising platforms (Google Ads), the Android mobile operating system, Chrome browser, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Drive, Google Earth, and the Google Play Store (com.android.vending). In 2015 Google reorganized under the parent company Alphabet Inc.; Google LLC remains the main operating company for the core internet products and services.
