Gas Powered Games
Gas Powered Games is an American video game developer founded in 1998 by designer Chris Taylor (best known for Total Annihilation). The studio became known for large-scale strategy and action-RPG titles, producing franchise hits such as Dungeon Siege (2002) and Dungeon Siege II, the real-time strategy epic Supreme Commander (2007) and its expansion Forged Alliance, as well as Supreme Commander 2 and the action-RPG Demigod. The studio built a reputation for ambitious, technically sophisticated games with strong designer-driven leadership.
In 2013 Gas Powered Games was acquired by Wargaming.net and rebranded as Wargaming Seattle; the studio later shut down and the Gas Powered Games brand became dormant. The company’s legacy remains in its influential strategy and RPG designs and the talent that went on to other studios.
