BioWare is a Canadian video game developer best known for creating story-driven role-playing games (RPGs). Founded in 1995 in Edmonton, Alberta by Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk and Augustine Yip, the studio rose to prominence with critically acclaimed RPGs such as the Baldur's Gate series, Neverwinter Nights and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Over time BioWare became synonymous with character-focused narratives, player choice systems, and richly detailed worlds, later delivering major franchises including Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
