Eidos Interactive (formerly Eidos Interactive Limited)

Eidos Interactive was a prominent British video game publisher and, at times, developer best known for major consumer franchises such as Tomb Raider, Hitman and Deus Ex. Operating mainly in the 1990s and 2000s, Eidos published and distributed a wide range of PC and console titles across genres; it also established or acquired multiple internal studios (for example Eidos Montréal) to develop flagship IPs.

In 2009 Eidos was acquired by Square Enix and its operations and brands were progressively integrated into Square Enix’s European publishing organization. Although the original Eidos Interactive corporate entity is no longer independent, the Eidos name and several studios that grew out of the company (notably Eidos Montréal) continue to be associated with AAA game development and the management of legacy Eidos franchises.
