Double Fine Productions
Double Fine Productions is a San Francisco–based independent video game development studio founded by industry veteran Tim Schafer in 2000. The studio is known for its quirky, narrative-driven titles with strong art direction and humor — notable releases include Psychonauts, Broken Age, Brutal Legend, Costume Quest, Stacking, Hack 'n' Slash, Day of the Tentacle Remastered, and Psychonauts 2.
Double Fine has a distinctive internal culture that emphasizes creativity and experimentation (notably through its Amnesia Fortnight prototyping jams), and it has supported alternative funding and publishing approaches such as crowdfunding and the Double Fine Presents label for indie games. In 2019 Double Fine joined Xbox Game Studios, and continues to develop original and remastered titles while also supporting and publishing smaller projects.
