Cyan Worlds, Inc.
Cyan Worlds, commonly known as Cyan, is an independent video game developer best known for creating the landmark graphic adventure Myst (1993) and its sequel Riven (1997). The studio was founded in the late 1980s by brothers Rand and Robyn Miller and established a reputation for richly detailed, puzzle-driven worlds and proprietary technology (originally the Plasma engine) that emphasized atmosphere, exploration, and non-linear storytelling. In the 2010s the company successfully used crowdfunding to produce Obduction (released 2016) and has more recently released titles such as Firmament, continuing its focus on handcrafted worlds and puzzles.
