Comodo Security Solutions, Inc.

Comodo Security Solutions, originally part of the Comodo Group, is a cybersecurity company founded in 1998 by Melih Abdulhayoglu. The company built a broad portfolio of security products and services over the years, including endpoint protection, firewalls, VPNs, DNS security, and consumer utilities such as Comodo Dragon (Chromium-based browser) and Comodo IceDragon (Firefox-based browser). Comodo grew both as a vendor of consumer security tools and as a provider of enterprise security solutions and managed services.

Historically Comodo also operated a certificate authority business that issued SSL/TLS certificates; that CA business was divested and rebranded as Sectigo in 2018. Comodo Security Solutions continues to develop and market a range of security products for consumers and businesses, including antivirus/endpoint protection, backup utilities, and support/management components (examples include Comodo Backup, Dragon Helper/dragon_updater, and livePCsupport components).
