SAP SE (SAP BusinessObjects)
Business Objects (often written BusinessObjects) was a pioneering business intelligence (BI) software vendor founded in the early 1990s and best known for reporting and BI products such as Crystal Reports, BusinessObjects Enterprise, Web Intelligence and related tools. The company built a large installed base across enterprises by providing report design, ad hoc query, OLAP access and metadata-driven "Universe" semantic layers that made it easier for non-technical users to access corporate data.
In 2007 Business Objects was acquired by SAP and its products have since been incorporated into SAP's analytics portfolio under the SAP BusinessObjects brand. SAP continues to support and develop the on-premises BusinessObjects platform for many enterprise customers while also expanding cloud-first analytics offerings (for example SAP Analytics Cloud).
