Bungie, Inc. is an American video game developer founded in 1991 and best known for creating influential franchise titles such as Marathon, Halo (originally developed by Bungie before the studio's acquisition by Microsoft), and the Destiny series. Headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, Bungie carved a reputation for first-person shooters and strong single-player and multiplayer design, later evolving into one of the larger live-service game operators with Destiny and Destiny 2.
