Borland Software Corporation
Borland Software Corporation (originally Borland International) was founded in 1983 by Philippe Kahn and became a prominent vendor of programming tools and development environments during the 1980s and 1990s. The company is best known for influential products such as Turbo Pascal and Turbo C in the early PC era, and later for Delphi (the Object Pascal RAD/IDE), C++Builder, JBuilder, and the InterBase relational database. Borland’s tools emphasized integrated development environments and rapid application development, and they had a large developer following across desktop and enterprise software markets.
