AVG Technologies (AVG)
AVG (originally Grisoft) is a software company best known for the AVG Antivirus product line and a family of consumer and small-business system utilities and security tools. The company developed antivirus, anti-malware, privacy, and performance-optimization applications — examples include AVG Antivirus, AVG PC TuneUp (also marketed as TuneUp Utilities), Disk Defrag, AVG 1-Click Maintenance, and AVG Disk Doctor. The AVG brand has been widely distributed to consumers and OEM partners around the world.
AVG Technologies grew from its Czech origins into an internationally recognized security-software vendor and in 2016 was acquired by Avast, after which AVG continued to operate as a consumer-facing brand within the Avast family. Today AVG products focus on malware protection, privacy (VPN and secure browsing), and system performance/cleanup tools, with support and product information available through the AVG website and official social channels.
