Allegorithmic was a French software company known for developing the Substance family of tools — including Substance Designer and Substance Painter — which provide procedural texturing and material authoring workflows widely used in games, film/VFX, product visualization, and architecture. Founded in the 2000s, Allegorithmic built a reputation for powerful, artist-focused tools that let creators produce high-quality PBR (physically based rendering) materials and textures, automate material generation, and manage complex texture pipelines.

In January 2019 Allegorithmic was acquired by Adobe and its products were integrated into Adobe's 3D initiative under the Adobe Substance 3D brand. Today the technology and product line continue as Adobe Substance 3D (substance3d.adobe.com), forming a core part of Adobe's tools for 3D content creation, material libraries, and workflows for artists and studios across entertainment, design, and interactive industries.
