RARLAB (Alexander Roshal)
RARLAB is the organization behind the WinRAR family of products and the RAR compression format. The RAR format and the WinRAR archiver were developed by programmer Eugene Roshal; Alexander Roshal manages distribution, licensing and the official website (rarlab.com). RARLAB publishes and maintains WinRAR (the Windows GUI archiver), the command-line RAR tools, installers/uninstallers and localized builds for many languages.
WinRAR is a proprietary, widely used file archiver and archive manager offering RAR and ZIP support, multi-volume archives, repair features, strong compression and shell integration. RARLAB provides official downloads, documentation and licensing information on its site and issues periodic updates and language/localization builds. The project is not primarily an open-source developer organization and has a limited official presence on major social developer platforms.
