Alcatel‑Lucent Enterprise (ALE)
Alcatel‑Lucent Enterprise (often shortened to ALE) is the enterprise communications arm associated historically with the Alcatel and Lucent brands. The roots of the business trace back to Alcatel (a French telecommunications company) and Lucent (an American telecom spin‑off), which merged in the mid‑2000s. Over time the enterprise communications division focused specifically on business telephony, unified communications, contact center solutions and related networking infrastructure for organizations of varying sizes.
ALE develops and supports telephony platforms and UC (unified communications) clients used by enterprises, partners and service providers. One of its well‑known desktop clients is PIMphony, a softphone/UC client used alongside Alcatel enterprise PBX platforms (OmniPCX/OCX/Alcatel‑Lucent systems). ALE’s product set typically includes IP telephony systems, UC applications, contact center software and networking equipment targeted at business customers and channel partners.
