Activision Publishing, Inc., commonly known as Activision, is an American video game publisher founded in 1979 by former Atari employees. It was one of the first third‑party game publishers and grew into a major global publisher of console, PC, and mobile games. Over the decades Activision has been associated with numerous high‑profile franchises and licensed movie tie‑ins — examples include long-running series such as Call of Duty and earlier published titles and tie‑ins like Spider‑Man 3 and James Bond: Quantum of Solace.
