Divisions, promotions, and relegations
WhatPulse Leagues have eight divisions. Every new competitor starts in Bronze and can climb one division at a time.
From lowest to highest, the divisions are: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Champion, and finally, Legend
Promotion, safe, and relegation zones
Your weekly group is split into zones that are clearly marked in the standings:
- Promotion zone: finish here to move up one division.
- Safe zone: finish here to stay in your current division.
- Relegation zone: finish here to move down one division.
Groups are built around 50 competitors. In a typical 50-person group, the top 10 are promoted, the middle 30 hold their division, and the bottom 10 are relegated. The exact number of places scales with the actual group size, so always use the zone markers shown in your standings.
Bronze and Legend work differently
Bronze is the lowest division, so nobody can be relegated from it. Competitors in the promotion zone move to Silver, while everyone else stays in Bronze.
Legend is the highest division, so there is nowhere else to promote to. Top finishers earn a Legend win and stay in Legend. Competitors in the relegation zone move to Champion, while the middle of the group stays in Legend.
What happens after the round
Your finishing position determines the division used for your next eligible round:
- A promotion moves you up exactly one division.
- A relegation moves you down exactly one division.
- A hold keeps you in the same division.
If you take a week off, your saved division does not decay. You return to it after another active week.
How tied scores are ranked
Competitors are ranked by Pulse Score. If two people have the same Pulse Score, the person with more keys ranks higher. Any remaining exact tie is resolved consistently by the system.
