Microsoft HTML Application Host, also known as mshta.exe, is a utility that executes HTML applications (HTA files). HTA files are used to code applications that have some of the flexibility of web pages but are executed unproblematically by Windows systems. This utility is a part of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
