WhatPulseDescription
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer files between a client and a server over TCP/IP networks. Defined in RFC 959, FTP supports commands for listing directories, uploading and downloading files, resuming transfers, and can operate in active or passive connection modes using well-known ports (typically 20 and 21). Authentication is commonly performed with username and password, and the protocol transmits control and data channels separately.
