AUGUSTUS
Description
AUGUSTUS is a gene prediction software package for eukaryotic genomes. It is a command-line application that uses probabilistic models (generalized hidden Markov models) and species-specific training to predict protein-coding genes, producing GFF/GTF-style annotations. AUGUSTUS can incorporate extrinsic evidence (hints) such as RNA‑seq alignments, ESTs, and protein homology to improve predictions.
