SEGA Corporation
SEGA Corporation is a multinational video game and entertainment company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. With roots stretching back to the mid-20th century, SEGA became well known for its arcade machines, home consoles, and iconic franchises—most notably Sonic the Hedgehog. Over the decades the company has evolved from hardware manufacturer to a global developer, publisher, and licensor of interactive entertainment across consoles, PC, and mobile platforms.
Sonic Team is SEGA's internal development division that created and continues to steward the Sonic franchise, while Arzest is an independent Japanese studio founded by industry veterans who have collaborated with SEGA on several projects. For Sonic Superstars, SEGA acted as the publisher and oversaw development with Sonic Team and co-developer Arzest. Today SEGA continues to produce and publish games, maintain franchise IPs, and partner with third-party studios for new releases and cross-media projects.
