PortableApps.com

PortableApps.com is an open-source project and distribution platform that packages and distributes portable versions of popular Windows applications so they can run from removable storage (USB flash drives, external hard drives) or cloud folders without installation. The site and ecosystem were created and are primarily maintained by John T. Haller and a community of contributors; the PortableApps.com Platform, PortableApps.com Installer format (PAF) and many of the launchers and wrappers are open-source and intended to make applications portable while preserving user settings and data.

In addition to hosting and curating hundreds of portable applications, PortableApps.com also packages upstream open-source projects for portable use — for example, GIMP Portable is PortableApps.com's packaged distribution of the upstream GIMP (The GIMP Development Team) for portable deployment.
