Neovide (open-source project)

Neovide is an open-source, cross-platform graphical front-end for Neovim. Written in Rust, it provides a GPU-accelerated, visually polished GUI that mirrors Neovim's modal editing while adding features like smooth animations, cursor effects, and modern input/clipboard handling. It acts as a client to the Neovim core via RPC, offering a lightweight alternative to other GUIs for users who want native Neovim behavior with improved visuals.

The project was originally authored by the GitHub user Kethku and, after the original author's early contributions, has been maintained and developed by the broader open-source community.
