Microsoft Research

Microsoft Research (MSR) is the research division of Microsoft Corporation, founded in 1991 to advance the state of the art in computing and related fields. MSR operates multiple worldwide labs (including Redmond, Cambridge UK, Beijing, and more) and produces fundamental and applied research across areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, systems and networking, computer vision, natural language processing, human-computer interaction, security and privacy, quantum computing, and computational biology. The group publishes extensively in top conferences and journals, maintains collaborations with universities and industry partners, and both incubates new ideas and transfers technologies into Microsoft products and services.
