LogMeIn began as a Boston-area software company best known for remote‑access and remote‑support tools. Founded in the early 2000s, LogMeIn built a portfolio of products that enabled remote desktop access, IT management, and online collaboration — offerings such as LogMeIn Pro, LogMeIn Rescue, Join.me and mobile clients like LogMeIn Ignition became widely used by consumers, IT admins and service providers. The company also expanded through acquisitions, notably adding the LastPass password manager to its lineup in the mid‑2010s.
