EA Phenomic (formerly Phenomic Game Development), a studio of Electronic Arts
Phenomic Game Development was a German game studio founded in the late 1990s that specialized in real-time strategy and online PC titles. The studio was acquired by Electronic Arts in 2006 and operated under the EA umbrella as EA Phenomic. Phenomic is best known for developing BattleForge, a hybrid collectible-card/real-time-strategy online game released in 2009.
Under Electronic Arts, EA Phenomic focused on RTS and online game mechanics and engines. EA closed the studio in 2013 and several of its online services (including BattleForge's official servers) were subsequently shut down; however, BattleForge attracted a niche community that later restored fan-run servers. Today information about EA Phenomic is available primarily through EA's corporate channels and archived pages.
