Digital Illusions CE AB (DICE) — Electronic Arts studio
Digital Illusions CE AB (commonly known as DICE) is a Swedish video game developer founded in 1992 and best known as the creator of the Battlefield franchise. DICE was acquired by Electronic Arts (EA) in 2006 and today operates as one of EA’s primary internal studios. Over the years the studio has produced multiple high-profile AAA titles (Battlefield series, Mirror’s Edge, Star Wars Battlefront titles) and has been a central contributor to EA’s technology stack.
DICE is also the original developer of the Frostbite engine, a proprietary game engine that has been used both by DICE and other EA studios for large-scale, graphically advanced games and live-service titles.
