SoftThinks (acquired by Dell)
SoftThinks was a software vendor best known for creating lightweight backup, system image and restore agents that OEMs could bundle with consumer PCs to provide factory-reset, backup and recovery functionality. Their technology was commonly integrated into OEM recovery solutions and shipped as an agent inside factory-installed utilities to create and restore system images and manage recovery partitions.
SoftThinks' technology was later acquired and integrated into Dell's client recovery tooling and branded offerings (seen in utilities such as Dell Backup and Recovery and AlienRespawn for Alienware systems). Today the legacy SoftThinks functionality is maintained as part of Dell's software/support ecosystem for client endpoints and recovery solutions; for current product information and downloads Dell's corporate/support site is the authoritative source.
