Creative Assembly is a British video game developer best known as the creator of the Total War series — a long-running franchise of strategy games that blends turn-based empire management with large-scale real-time tactical battles. Founded in the late 1980s and based in Horsham, West Sussex, the studio has expanded over the years into multiple teams and studios, producing both historical strategy titles (Total War: Rome II, Medieval II, Shogun series) and licensed single‑player experiences such as Alien: Isolation.
