Description
Optimize Drives (previously called Disk Defragmenter) is a built-in Windows utility that analyzes and optimizes storage drives. For traditional hard disk drives (HDDs) it consolidates fragmented files to improve read/write performance; for solid-state drives (SSDs) it issues TRIM operations and runs optimizations appropriate for flash storage, rather than traditional defragmentation.
