Windows Desktop Gadgets
Description
Windows Desktop Gadgets, also known as Windows Sidebar, was a widget engine for Microsoft Windows, introduced with Windows Vista and included with Windows 7. It hosted mini-applications called "gadgets" which can display information like stock updates, weather, and news feed. Although it offered utility functions and customization to the user interface, the feature was discontinued due to security vulnerabilities.
