Description
FreeSpace 2 Open (FS2_Open) is an open-source, community-led reimplementation and enhancement of the FreeSpace 2 game engine. It modernizes the original 1999 space-combat simulator by adding widescreen and high-resolution support, improved graphics and effects, multiplayer updates, bug fixes, platform portability, and a robust modding framework to run and extend the original game content and community mods.
