Description
Windows Desktop Gadgets (also called Windows Gadgets or Windows Sidebar) are small, single-purpose desktop widgets introduced in Windows Vista and included in Windows 7 that provide at-a-glance information and quick tools such as clocks, weather, calendars, RSS feeds, CPU/memory meters, and sticky notes. Users could add, remove, and configure gadgets on the desktop to surface frequently needed information or controls without launching full applications.
