The Binding of Isaac is an action roguelike video game designed by Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl, developed by McMillen and Tyrone Rodriguez, and published by Nascom. McMillen first developed the game as a Flash game in 2010, and released an expanded version for the Xbox Live Arcade in 2012. The game is a randomly generated action RPG where the player controls a young boy named Isaac who is trying to escape his mother after she attempts to kill him as part of a religious ritual. The game was inspired by the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac.
