Description
Shell Infrastructure Host (sihost.exe) is a core Windows system process that provides many user interface elements of the Windows Shell. It is responsible for rendering and managing shell visuals such as the Start menu, taskbar transparency and animations, the desktop background, and certain system notifications and UI transitions. The executable normally resides in C:\Windows\System32 and runs as a protected system service on Windows desktop editions.
