Background Task Host
Description
Background Task Host (BackgroundTaskHost.exe) is a Windows system process used to run background tasks for Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps and other app extensions. It provides the runtime environment that lets apps perform work while not in the foreground — for example, handling notifications, performing periodic maintenance, or responding to system triggers — without requiring the full app UI to be active.
