🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fix keyboard heat-map not updating in some cases. Note that only presentation was affected by this, data recorded in 2.6 will be there.
  • Fix crashing bug on start-up on all platforms. Related: losing your login on a system startup.

🎉 New Features

  • Add an advanced setting feature called "Reset Geek Window Location" to reset the location of the Geek Window in case it does not show (due to a monitor or resolution change).

More on this in a new website called Developer Center, but for now simply point your browser to http://localhost:3490 to discover more (after enabling it in your settings).

  • Network: Allow users to override traffic type description through a custom CSV file (more info on the forums).

  • Traffic Types: Add an option to record unknown traffic (not registered in the network ports CSV) and and disable it by default. This will stop database files growing extensively when using Peer-to-Peer download services.

  • When using the 'Reset' button, the client now asks which statistic you want to reset instead of resetting all stats. Also fix resetting of per traffic type stats.
  • Adjust some interface element sizes (few buttons, some text) to look more spiffier.

  • Introducing Milestones: A way to get notifications when you reach certain statistics (e.g. every 1000 keys).
  • Add the ability to filter on the type of network traffic; wireless or wired.
  • The Windows client will now be signed to validate it's authentic.
  • You can now file a bug report straight from the client (Settings tab).

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Don't crash on startup when a network issue downloads a corrupted network-ports.csv file.
  • Ignore Docker virtual interfaces which prevents the client from using way too much memory when Docker is running.

📈 Improvements

  • Don't ever show the updates window when a fullscreen application is active.
  • Update our framework to Qt5.7, which solved a few random stability issues.
  • Properly scale a few interface elements when using a high resolution screen.

📝 Notes

  • After updating, the client might ask for another update. This is known behaviour and will be fixed in the next version.

🎉 New Features

  • Show the history of Milestone triggers in the settings page, so you can keep track of when which Milestone triggered.
  • Add support for network hardware offloading. This means the client is way more accurate with network bandwidth in certain hardware setups.
  • Add support for Win10Pcap (newer modern version of the 3rd party network monitoring) in the client. We're still providing WinPcap with the installer though.

📈 Improvements

  • Put the real version number (2.7.2b2) in the title bar and use the confusing one (2.7.1-1431) only under the hood.
  • Add local computer info (OS/Hardware details) to get the complete picture when we're troubleshooting.

📝 Notes

  • The 'Save' button on the Milestones page is now hidden as the Milestones save instantly and you don't have to use the 'Save' button.

  • Adjust the height of the Facts window so the letters aren't squished.
